Possible Virus

I have a Toshiba Laptop Model L675D-S7016 running Windows 8 PRO. It runs completely normal in all normal daily respects except the following:

If you try to restart, it freezes during the shutting down phase. Only working recourse is a hard shutdown (holding down power key until shutdown). Then, when powering up, hold down F2 key to get to BIOS where you find it has been reset to defaults and the time reset to midnite. The date remains correct. Reset time, save and exit and it proceeds to boot up normally.

If you try Shutdown instead, it will try to start but freezes in the startup phase. Then, the corrective action as in restart is required to get a normal restart.

Multiple runnings of updated Windows Defender, Malwarebytes and Trend Micro has produced nothing.

I suspect it might be the CMOS/RTC battery but my laptop requires complete disassembly to get to it and then it's soldered in so I want to be sure it isn't a virus first before trying that.

So I wanted to check with you folks first and would greatly appreciate your opinion.

The files requested in your instructions are attached.

Thank you very much for your time and help.
