Is this a virus, malware, or ?

Running the latest Firefox on Windows 7 Home 64-bit. Starting last week, out of the blue, a new tab opens, telling me to upgrade HD player. The URL is w3.gamesformore.com/lotsofnumbersandletters

Has anyone heard of this and how I can get rid of it? No new add-ons or plugins.
