Malaware scan/removal tool?

Went on my pc today and was on Facebook and emails as normal

I am using "virgin media security centre" for all of my protection

All of a sudden it warned me that the mallaware / virus protection was turned off and I can not enable of at all

I have tried Microsoft malicious software removal tool quick scan with nothing found
I'm 30 minutes into a full scan now and it's about 5% I'd say

I have also tries mallaware bites anti mallaware but nothing was found


Any idea what software I could use to detect what it is?


My Internet connection is disconnected for now also
I had a similar problem like this about 18 months ago where it affected windows firewall and also this security software in the same way but windows firewall is still active and working "apparently"
