Hi there,
So I recently removed the RCMP Virus which was a ransomware, had the camera thing and locked screen etc. Anyways, I removed it using malwarebytes.
However, every time my desktop loads, a message stating:
Start up problem, missing C:\PROGRA~3\rr!.dat.
Nothing happens when I clicked okay. In fact, when I look at the logs made by Malwarebytes, it shows that it has deleted C:\\PROGRAMDATA\rr!.dat removed as a virus.
So here's my question, did the virus actually delete something useful? Or is the message of the missing C:\PROGRA~3\rr!.dat simply a remnant of the virus? Should I use system restore?
Thanks,
Tim
