Cheshire Police Trojan

As I was browsing the internet yesterday, something popped up on my screen.

It says that I need to pay £100 Ukash to the unblock my PC. Essentially what it does it block access to the desktop using a fullscreen webpage that cannot be closed at all, no matter what the keyboard combinations I press. I'm tech savvy so I looked up some advanced methods online, all of which failed. (Deleting registry entries, looking up filenames in %appdata% and system32)

Here is a screenshot: http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/mp/3zQU0N3OiDol.jpg

I manage to bypass the webpage by false shutting down, but this took about 20 attempts before I could cancel the shutdown after the webpage had closed. All the other times it just froze or shutdown anyway.

Safe mode will not work either, after 4 attempts to go into it, it just instantaneously logs me back out. I receive BSOD once but then the computer just started back up again and ran Windows.

After contacting BT Support (My ISP) and McAfee, they both said that antivirus does not detect Trojans. To my understanding, Trojans are viruses, but oh well. So support can't control my computer and a 50 minute call to BT proved useless.

The only other solution is to contact my local vendor/technician who can take a look at the computer, but I don't really want to have to spend money and possibly lose the computer for days for something that isn't my fault.

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit if that helps.

Thank you!
