Yellow shield states I have updates available

But every time that I select the option to update, the same yellow shield appears sometime later, within hours or days, telling me I have updates still available. This process just keeps repeating itself.

While doing my back up, as recommended by your first steps, I realized I could not back up all my documents (pictures) onto a flash drive. In an attempt to make the backup smaller I put several items in my Recycle Bin. When this did not work, I went and bought an external hard drive and backed up my documents onto it.

I have not removed the items from my Recycle Bin and suspect that within it are the files that may be corrupt. Before I did anything else I wanted to mention this.

I attempted to follow all the "first steps" that your site recommends, and successfully created the ark zipped file which I've attached below. However, when I click on the link, your site provides, for the DDS, it takes me to a blank page with "about:blank" in the address line.

I've attached to ark file as instructed and hope to hear from you.
