Hi,
I'm experiencing the condition of Google redirecting to 87.125.87.99 from inside Firefox or Internet Explorer. This is on Windows XP Pro SP3. I run AVG Free and no other antivirus, profiles are up to date.
I first tried malwarebytes with updated profiles and it initially found 8 items on a deep scan but now returns no items. I have checked the hosts file and it has only the standard IPv4 and IPv6 entries.
I clicked the option to temporarily disable AVG before trying the dds.scr script.
I have tried to run it in regular and safe mode (without networking), but it does not return any results after 20-25 minutes. The DOS/CMD window cannot be closed, you have to hard boot for restart. I have not tried the gmer, but will attempt it next per the 1st Steps. After the restart following the attempt in safe mode, now google is opening properly, which is somewhat infuriating as an intermittent.
So this is a log to get started. I'll try the gmer next and post its results if I can get any to return. Any advice on getting dds to run?
Thanks,
