Yesterday, I was browsing that 'Scandinavia and the world' website with the comics, and then was suddenly shown the 'Microsoft suchandsuch would like to make changes to suchandsuch' message asking me to change key process's on my computer.
Naturally I clicked No, cuz I didn't initiate anything like that at all, but it popped up as soon as I closed it. So I ctrl+alt+del'd and opened task manager to see if it was a malware program, and I've seen a few where they seem to name the program a random series of characters, in this case it was something like bwufcge.exe. When I 'End Process' that program, the pop ups stop.
But what this program did is annoying. It slowed down a lot of the functions of my computer, made all my browser downloads (I'm using IE9, and I know its bad, but not much I can do now) finish as 'partial downloads', blocked access to Steam and Origin, forced Chrome to not start up at all, and makes most webpages slow down. So after scanning with McAfee in normal mode, an 8 hour scan revealed nothing at all, so I turned off for the night and did a full scan with Malwarebytes in safe mode (which I'm using now), which found and removed 6 unrelated dodgy programs. They were unrelated due to the pop up problem still occuring when switching back into normal mode.
After finding the program in some random Temp file (it had an exclamation mark and comp screen icon) I made McAfee 'Shred' it, and apparently it was removed, but since that, this has happened: McAfee's Real Time Scanning is forcibly turned off, when I try to turn it on again, it's on for 5 seconds, then gets forcibly turned off again (in normal and safe mode), Malwarebytes wont start in normal mode (but works fine in safe mode), ALL webpages crash in any browser in normal mode + the other problems mentioned. Haven't tested if the pop ups still occur in normal mode anymore and no clue what to do now. I've been fairly safe, I haven't typed in a password to anything online, and the few sites i've been on are Youtube and BTmail.
Really need help with this, got the Attach and DDS files if you need them.
