Unwanted Search Toolbar - Mystery To Experts

If anyone out there likes to slove mysteries - I've got one for you. I know, you'll be saying I've heard this all before - easy fix. WRONG! So far I have implemented every prodcedure from Microsoft, Norton, Malware Removal Guide For Windows Web-Site, and more adware software companies than I can mention here. All without solving the problem. So, before I have to wipe and format my whole drive ( which would be a disaster for me) I thought I would seek help here. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, SP1. I have installed Norton 360 and Spyhunter 4. I use Firefox and Internet Explorer 9.
PROBLEM: When I try to fill in ANY search ( on my browser or start menu) or any log-in ( as it did when I first logged in to Tech Support Forum), a search bar pops up and puts the letters in its search box. Sometimes I can just (X) the box out and start over, sometimes I have to restart the browser or search. Most of the time I have to use the Task Manager to end the unwanted search bar. The only name that appears in the Task Manager is "Search Results" which I have to end. I have no unwanted software listed in my Control Panel Uninstall. This problem does not occur every time but intermittently.

Believe me, I have tried every procedure out there - nothing works.

The only change I made to my computer just before this started was installing software for my UPS from APC. I immediately uninstalled it when it was causing problems with my system.

I have attached a snip for your review ( see the bottom toolbar under Bank of America) - that should not be there.

I hope someone can help - getting desperate!
