Browser Redirect Problem

Hey,

Recently Ive had some issues with a browser redirect problem.. Of course I've gone through many scans using many different resources. Often times it simply redirects my current page to a blank tab. Other times, my browser keeps opening blank windows, reaching an annoyingly high amount.

I tried using hijackthis to see if i had some attacking my browser, but was unable to find anything.

Once fed up, I decided to reformat using a downloaded copy of windows. To my surprise, the problem persisted even after my reformat. I thought this was impossible, and the problem actually disappeared.

I eventually (now), decided to get a manufacturers recovery disk to have a cleaner install with more factory drivers. So i reformated my computer again. Now the problem has come back, which makes no sense. Any file i transferred over has been previously scanned many times. It seems that the browser set to default is most vulnerable to the mischief. though even though I have no active default browser, the one I use is always faulty. It seems that when I'm in-game, the frequency of random opening of windows is more frequent.
