I started experiencing an issue today which renders my laptop unusable.
It's an Acer aspire 5742 running Windows 7.
Every time i boot up it loads normally until i reach the desktop where the HDD indicator light stays on constantly and i cannot open most of my programs. I can open some basic programs like notebook, but even then they take a long time to open.
I am able to boot in safe mode. I tried a virus scan with advanced system care from safe mode, but during the scan i got a blue screen error and my laptop shut down. I wasn't able to take note of what the error said.
Any help would be appreciated.
