I got an interesting question from a friend today. Apparently his wife found the site lovefinder.biz in his search history on his home computer. He's adamant that he's never visited the site and I believe him. I know that through pop-ups and browser hijacking viruses that it's possible he was redirected there unintentionally but that's not the main problem here.
His wife also checked his saved passwords in Firefox and found that there were 3 accounts saved for this lovefinder site. The funny thing is that the account names and passwords saved look like they've been randomly taken from the rest of his saved passwords list.
So the question is: Is it possible for a virus to access your Firefox saved passwords list and attempt to login to or create an account for a site? If not, what do you think happened here?
