It's called NeeXtCoup and is an extension in Chrome.
It showed up a few days ago with another Malware extension that I can't remember now. I was trying to download at the Major League Baseball website a viewer to see a game. All I got was malware!
Both hijacked my Google listings with their phony listings taking up the top half of the page. It also on some websites inserts ads. The malware that I can't remember clearly said "Ad's by ______".
Neither were listed in my programs list.
I went to the date when I downloaded and deleted all that I downloaded that day. Some of what it downloaded listed on the same day but in the year 2013. Pretty sneaky!
Initially it / they attached to Chrome, Firefox, and IE. I managed to get them deleted off of Firefox and IE successfully by going to Add-on's and deleting them.
However, when I do the same on Chrome, the NeeXtCoup shows back up a few hours later. I've tried disabling it, and deleting it. It always comes back on it's own and activates itself.
I deleted Chrome completely, restarted my computer, then downloaded Chrome again. Sure enough NeeXtCoup was there again on the new Chrome in extensions.
I've run SpyBot, and Junkware Removal programs without success.
I've gone on Safe Mode and looked at all the RegEdit registries and can't find it. But I'm no expert either and could have not recognized it.
Anyone come across this little bugger?
Any ideas how I can kill it off?
I'm not super skilled but can follow directions if you could tell me how or where to look?
Thanks in Advance!
