dds not working on windows 8.1

so i have following issues, cousin was on my computer and downloaded some terrible skype emoticon pack wich came with tons of malware.


through malware bytes and ccleaner i believed i removed it all but from time to time when i click on a website it redirects me to some blocked ad site.

got redirected to the instructions but got error with dds saying it cannot run on compatibility mode. after a bit of googling found out it cannot run on windows 8.1 aka my OS.


any alternatives for me or do i have to wait till the 8.1 release is out?
