Possible malware/virus or a connection problem?

Hello,

Having a very frustrating problem and have no idea what to target. My computer will not finish downloading anything. It starts out strong, and gets to the very end, when all of a sudden it warns be about files being corrupted. I tried this with various updates (Java, Adobe Flash Player) and programs (Opera browser, Winrar) and I am unable to download/install anything without some kind of 'corrupt' warning coming up.

The weird thing is, I am at my grandma's for winter break (I'm in college), and her two computers have the SAME PROBLEM. So we have three computers, with all different virus protection and all different operating systems, but hooked up to the same router, with this problem. It has extended passed being unable to download things... I get random script on webpages, and certain videos and games refuse to load all together.

My own computer's problems began when I noticed freezing in my videos.. and not just regular lag. My video was freezing at the exact same spots every single time I played it, which was multiple times. I was also getting some minor script, not enough to ruin the webpage, but it was there. I thought it may be a Firefox problem, so I uninstalled Firefox, intending to reinstall it. However, that's when I found out I was unable to download anything, and I couldnt get Firefox back. I decided I'd try a System Restore and went back just two days, just to get Firefox back, and though I did get it back, it came up with 'cannot find XPCOM'. So I still have no access to Firefox (which was my main browser).

My grandma had brought one of her computers in to a tech guy just a few days ago (we hadn't yet understood what exactly was happening to our computers, and mine was not yet effected at that point) but she paid over $100 and either the guy didn't do anything, or the problem returned when she hooked it back up here.

Is it possible something is wrong with the router/connection? It seems most likely since all three computers were effected but I'm not sure what to target.

My computer is an HP Pavilion with Intel Pentium, running Windows Vista, 64-bit. 4GB system memory, 500GB hard drive.

My grandma's router is a Netgear Rangemax - WPN824v2.

I would really appreciate any help!

-Soft reset of the router did nothing.
