FBI MoneyPak Ransomeware / lost admin rights / no networking

I am running Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium Edition on a Compaq CQ5320F. It recently got a virus, the FBI MoneyPak Ransomeware. I was trying to get it cleared out on another site, but was unsuccessful. I was able to restore it initially and it got rid of the FBI page, but I can no longer make admin changes and it does not recognize my LAN connection, to the point of not even acknowledging there is a cable connected. The cable works as I have plugged it into another computer and have full access to the internet with it. I am at my wits end here. If someone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks in advance.


A little additional information. This is not my computer, I am working on it for my sister, she did not have anti-virus software running and is totally computer illiterate, hence my assistance. The other site had me trying different things to troubleshoot, but was unable to complete the removal, if requested I can see about posting a link to what they had me do. I will try and update this often, but my work schedule is hectic this week, so bare with me.
