I have an Amazon Smart Search Browser tool bar that I believe installed itself this past week when I downloaded a free .pdf writer called "Pdf Creator" and it's .pdf editing counterpart, "Pdf Architect". I also downloaded a Rhinoceros modeling plug-in called "Grasshopper" and a .dwg viewing software called "DWG True View" by AutoDesk. I believe that I got this virus on 9/12/13. I uninstalled the Amazon program but this did not seem to help. When I reset Chrome and Internet Explorer, Amazon Smart Search went away as my home page but I am afraid that there are still program and registry files on my computer that I do not know how to find and delete. When I ran DDS.scr, it did not create any log files on my desktop - that is why DDS.txt is not in this email and "Attach.txt" is not attached. The GMER Rootkit Scanner had two problems while scanning that read as follows: "C:\Windows\System32\Config\System: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." "C:\Users\EvanJ\ntuser.dat: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." I have attached the GMER scanner's log as ark.txt.
