need fix for "Compile error in hidden module" message in Word 2007

then a box comes up after that says: module Globals ETC.

Its marked at the top: Micrososot Visual Basic

looks like Malware -- I'm still able to open Word but have to click thru several of these messages...

Word said to change Macro template settings which didn't solve the issue.
Web said it had something to do with "Nitro PDF residue" and that it left aunwanted toolbar.
Microsoft site first said download the "Fix it" program which doesn't work for Windows 8
then it said to go to Adobe and download Adobe 5.1 add in which of course didn't work either. -> probably old info..
Any help would be appreciated - I see that this is a common error.
