Recently when I was troubleshooting an unrelated issue, I noticed that my computer name had been changed to a dirty word. I changed it back, but when I restarted it had changed once again to a completely new, random word. Ever since then, whenever I boot up my computer, it has a different name.
Some things it has been called:
stairway
beaches
operating
Needless to say, I am totally puzzled by this. I attempted a system restore, but each restore point also had a different arbitrary word associated with it as the computer name. Any tips toward resolving this would be great.
